Note: this was originally written in 2015 or so and both Android Studio and libGDX have been upgraded since then; of course use the latest versions :) I'm not aware of any breaking changes to how libGDX maps to OpenGL ES so all of the tutorials are still valid.
I'm using:
- Android Studio version 1.1.0. as my IDE.
- libGDX version 1.6.0.
